The City of Coachella has unveiled its latest mural in the city’s downtown area.
“What Lifts Your Wings – Coahella” is by artist Kelsey Montague. It can be found on the walls outside Coachella City Hall, at 1515 6th Street. The work features a pair of colorful wings with space between them where you (or anyone, really) can pose for snapshots.
Similar winged murals from Montague have appeared in San Diego, New York and Australia. You are encouraged to share your photos on The ‘Gram with the hashtag #whatliftsyou.
“This project is exciting and inspiring because it truly draws people into the art,” Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez said in a statement. “The interactive element provides a new dimension of enjoyment for the people of Coachella and visitors to our fine city.”
The city of Coachella is now home to nearly two dozen murals along with the recently opened “Etherea” by Italian artist Edoardo Trisoldi.
