Coachella Crossroads, an outdoor venue and event space, is coming to Spotlight 29 Casino.
The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians broke ground on the facility, which is located on a site adjacent to casino, on Tuesday. When completed, it will encompass more than 30 acres of open fields that can be used for everything from sporting events to concerts to campgrounds for music festivals like Stagecoach and Coachella.
The first phase, a recreational area called Village 29, will open this April – just in time for the fests. The entire Coachella Crossroads project is expected to be completed by Summer 2018.
“Our Tribe has put much effort into developing a vision for our future generations while balancing the needs of our environment and surrounding communities,” said former Tribal Chairman Dean Mike. “We are excited about Coachella Crossroads, our newest outdoor entertainment and recreational venture. Both our Tribe and dedicated team members look forward to welcoming visitors from near and far.”
