So you know that gross feeling you have in your gut. The one that says since the tennis tournament has already been cancelled due to the coronavirus, that Coachella and Stagecoach might not be too far behind? Obviously, the events are cool, but the economic impact to the Greater Palm Springs area are huuuuuuuuge and, well, none of us want to think about an April with a giant festival in Indio for the first time in 20 years. Well, my friend, there is a glimmer of hope.

First, let me stress here, this is not confirmed at this point, but.,..

Billboard backs up the above tweet with a report that Goldenvoice is working on a plan to move both Coachella and Stagecoach (which would be October 23) to October.

As we have seen before with Desert Trip, the Coachella Valley is very capable of having a successful fall fest and, hey, it’s soooooooo much better than cancelling everything. Now, how hotel and Airbnb reservations work, I don’t know, but still, it’s better than nothing.

As Billboard notes, trying to get all of the artists to commit to another set of weekends in the fall is a huge challenge and expect to know in the next 48 hours if such a move is even possible – so let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one.

Sidenote: It would be wild to see Stagecoach actually take place on the weekend with the potential for the best weather, seeing as it’s fall and all, so there’s that.

Once again, I can’t stress this enough, moving the fests to the fall is not confirmed yet, but, for now, you can at least take a deep breath, because maybe, just maybe, everything is going to not be awful.
