An 18-year-old Mecca man was arrested at the campus of College of the Desert in Palm Desert on Tuesday night after police say he was found in possession of marijuana for sale.
Palm Desert Sheriff Station deputies responded to the campus a little after 9 pm regarding a student in possession of marijuana on campus, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation revealed that Juan Romero Velazquez was in possession of several pounds of marijuana stored in individual jars. Police say he also had a scale, baggies, marijuana e-cigarettes, marijuana edibles and other paraphernalia.
Velazquez was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and booked into the jail in Indio.
