The day after the Super Bowl is going to be a day off for everyone at one big U.S. company – which also hopes that your workplace does the same.
Heinz has announced that it is giving all of its employees the day off on Monday, February 6. They have also launched a petition to make the day after the big game a national holiday. Heinz says if the reach 100,000 signatures, they will send it along to Congress.
“The Heinz brand doesn’t settle on delivering superior taste or quality, and we don’t believe America should have to settle on the day after the best sports day of the year,” said Nicole Kulwicki, head of Heinz brands, in a release.
Now, sure. This smells of a sneaky marketing push by a condiment maker prior to one of the biggest days of the year for ketchup and mustard sales, but who cares. They have a point that it should be a day to sleep off your hangover.
