Crews will be working to widen the Date Palm Drive overpass between Perez and Gerald Ford this week, which could cause some delays. In other words: this might be a good week to explore alternate routes to where you gotta go (which is, hopefully, Zobo & Meester’s because that place is delicious!) .
The Date Palm Bridge Widening and Seismic Improvement Project is set to add one additional lane along with sidewalks and a bicycle lane in both directions on the overpass – which is above the Whitewater Wash.

Girder placement is set to get underway starting today (Tuesday) and crews will be temporarily stopping traffic in both directions all week long during daylight hours.
Things are expected to get back to normal on Saturday.
