A YouTube documentary detailing the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’s 20 years will debut on April 10, Goldenvoice announced on Monday.
“Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert” will be available for streaming beginning at noon for free on YouTube that day, which is the time that the fest was scheduled to begin, until it was pushed back to the fall due to coronavirus.
“Since fans can’t come to the desert this April, we are bringing Coachella to them instead via #COUCHELLA,” Goldenvoice stated in the release. “‘Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert’ premieres at the exact time the doors of the festival would have otherwise opened – April 10 at 12:00pm PT streaming free on YouTube. Music continues to bring people together and what better time to share some of our favorite festival memories, performances and artist interviews from ‘99 to ‘19.”
In addition to showing the history of the fest and behind the scenes footage, the doc will also include performances from some of the biggest names in music, including Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Travis Scott, BLACKPINK, LCD Soundsystem, Rage Against The Machine, Pixies, Swedish House Mafia, Jane’s Addiction, Björk, The White Stripes, Madonna, Moby, Beck, Radiohead and more.
