After it was learned that In-N-Out Burger donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party, people have begun to threaten a boycott of the popular hamburger chain.
The donation was first spotted by journalist Gabe Schneider, who shared it on Twitter Wednesday afternoon:

As Los Angeles Magazine notes, this is not the first time In-N-Out has donated to the Republican party, as the company donated $30,000 in both 2016 and 2017 for general party expenses.
But, it was news of the $25,000 donation that led to many Twitter users to call to #BoycottInNOut – including California Democratic Party chairman Eric Bauman:
Et tu In-N-Out? Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party… it’s time to #BoycottInNOut – let Trump and his cronies support these creeps… perhaps animal style!https://t.co/9zkdFaG5CJ

@innoutburger looks like my family and I will be boycotting your restaurants from now on. You donate to the @GOP, that means you stand with Trump and all his bigotry. #ShameOnYou! #BoycottInNOuthttps://t.co/79wo1kNvxW

Phooey! I've enjoyed the convenience of the drive-thru 3 miles from my house, but no way do they get my money now. #BoycottInNOut https://t.co/BQDwEjoFzy

In-N-Out Burger has also donated $80,000 in the past two years to to Californians for Jobs and a Strong Economy, which Fortune describes as “a political action committee that supports business-friendly Democratic candidates”.
I stopped going to In N Out in Thousand Palms about a month ago. The patties were getting smaller and smaller, to the point that I ordered a double double last time, and the buns were getting soggier and soggier (I always request NO SAUCE.) Because of this silly boycott, I will go back, just to support them. Hopefully, they have read my Yelp reviews and have increased the amount of meat. We’ll see.
