After what can only be described as a super-smooth planning and building process, the first tiny portion of the CV Link will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday for a completed section that stretches a whole 2.3 miles – or less than 5% of the planned path.
The concrete bike / human / electric vehicle (?) path runs from Vista Chino in Palm Springs to Ramon Road in Cathedral City and was built earlier than the rest of the 50 mile path due to expiration dates on grants.
So what has all the fuss been about? Well, behold:
The grand opening celebration for the @CityofPS & Cathedral City segment of @CV_Link will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. The ceremony will be held inside the entrance to Escena, off of Vista Chino. Parking is limited. Carpooling is recommended. @CVAGnews @FriendsofCVLink pic.twitter.com/JBZVZTkvKt
