A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle while cycling in Thermal on Friday.

The man, identified as 68-year-old Jack Laird of Bellingham, Washington, was struck on Avenue 62 and Fillmore a little after noon, according to KMIR.

The driver, a woman in her 20s, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. CHP officer Steven Rivas told KESQ that she ran through a stop sign.
