Wow! Disney is really getting creative with their promotional efforts for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
32-year-old Jacob Mercer was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida after police say he entered a ‘8 til Late’ convenience store Sunday night with a lightsaber gun and a Darth Vader mask.
Mercer, who was also wearing Vader’s trademark blue sneakers and hoodie, pointed the gun at store employees and demanded money.
But, Luke Skywalker the clerk of the store was not having it. According to the cops, Mercer and the clerk got into a physical altercation after he clerk refused to give Mercer any money. The clerk then threw a huge jar of Lay’s smooth ranch dip at Darth Vader Mercer causing a laceration to Mercer’s face.
Mercer then fled the store, but was arrested a short time later with several handguns and ammunition inside a backpack (the dark side appears to be strong with this one).
Mercer was taken to the hospital for treatment of the laceration to the face and then booked into jail and charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon.
