Desert Hot Springs K9 Storm to receive bullet protective vest thanks to donation

Desert Hot Springs Police Department’s K9 Storm will be receiving a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation.

The vest is from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. It is sponsored by Richard Daniels of Desert Hot Springs and will be embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by Richard Daniels”.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is charity located in Massachusetts whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $960.00. More information on the program can be found here.

Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283 and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 lbs.

Storm is a male Belgian Malinois imported from Holland.
