Police arrested a 33-year-old Desert Hot Springs man on Wednesday in connection with an attempted homicide that occurred on March 30.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Jorge Gilbert after spotting him driving in the area of 14th Street and West Drive. Gilbert “jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot,” according to police.
Gilbert was arrested after a foot chase and a “brief struggle.”

Police have not released details about the attempted homicide – though a search warrant was served in the 9300 block of Calle Barranca in connection with this case.
