Do you know someone who bought up a bunch of Desert Trip tickets with the hopes of getting rich by being a douche and reselling them for a bundle just before the show? Well, funny story, that plan is not really working out for them.
Tickets to the three-day festival which begins on Friday, can be had for as little as $149 for grandstand seats to Weekend One (update: these vanished about 2 minutes after this post went up, sold or taken down I suppose) on StubHub and there are many, many tickets available for under the face value of $399 for general admission (those grandstand seats went for a minimum of $699 when they went on sale).
There are also a ton of listings on Craigslist, ebay, and you have undoubtedly seen several of your Facebook friends scrambling to sell theirs off this week.
Tickets plummeted after Goldenvoice, the concert’s promoter, began selling tickets again in September and, the way things are going, you may be able to get a pair for yourself for a couple of quarters and a stick of gum by Friday morning.
Update: Vivid Seats, a ticket reseller, reached out to Cactus Hugs to let us know that they are selling passes for as low as $160 on their site.
