Disneyland opened its gates for 24 hours on Friday to kick off the theme parks 60th anniversary. Fans flocked to The Happiest Place on Earth, which reached capacity at 2:30pm. With so many people, lines were to be expected, but people were not just lining up at the attractions.
Look at the freakin’ line for Starbucks!
This huge line is not for exclusive merchandise, it's for Starbucks. #Disneyland60 #Disneyland24 pic.twitter.com/aN0d37Qzhx

And for food…
What does it mean when the food lines are longer than the attraction lines? #Disneyland24 #Disneyland60 pic.twitter.com/duuUSacE5Z

And for the bathrooms…
The line for the restroom is longer than the line for The Little Mermaid ride. #Disneyland24 #Disney24

Disney issued a statement about the crowds:
“We’re excited that so many guests chose to visit the Disneyland Resort to celebrate the launch of our 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration,” Disney said in a statement after the closure. “We are working to accommodate all of our guests and ensure a great guest experience, whether they visit Disneyland or Disney California Adventure park.”
And while many of us in SoCal are more than happy to wait until a weekday to go to the park to beat the crowds, plenty of those who braved the crowds seemed to think it was all worth it.
