Douchey Insurance Co. Pays Settlement to So Cal Dude in Coins

We all know that insurance companies are the worst – well, with their denying necessary emergency medical procedures on babies and all. This week, one insurance company decided to up the douche-stakes, by paying off a $21,000 settlement completely in coins delivered in paint buckets. The LA Times reports:

The coins, dropped off in more than a dozen buckets, are being counted at a bank after his attorney, Antonio Gallo, said he called Adriana’s Insurance thinking it was a joke. But he said the Rancho Cucamonga company told him they were not issuing a check.

The settlement was the result of a 2012 lawsuit in which Andres Carrasco alleged that an employee at the company assaulted him when he tried to purchase insurance.

I am no customer service expert, but punching a customer is usually considered a no-no – even in the community of assholes that make up the insurance industry.

Hopefully everyone over at Adriana’s Insurance had a good laugh about delivering the settlement in coins – as they surely will not be doing much laughing as they are rotting away for eternity in hell.
