The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has announced a DUI checkpoint tonight for Friday, December 20, 2019) in the city of Coachella.
The checkpoint will be at an undisclosed location within the city limits tonight between the hours of 7 pm to 2 am.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reminds drivers that “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.” If you take prescription drugs, particularly those with a driving or operating machinery warning on the label, you might be impaired enough to get a DUI. Marijuana can also be impairing, especially in combination with alcohol or other drugs, and can result in a DUI.
Checkpoint or no checkpoint, if you have had too much to drink or are too impaired to drive, take a Lyft, an Uber, a cab, have a designated driver, or just stay home.
