Congressman (and shitty car driver) Raul Ruiz is about to get an opponent in the 2016 race to represent the 36th Congressional District of California. Oddly, that opponent does not even live in the district…which would seem to be kind of important.
Carpet Bagger Attorney Dwight Kealy, a Republican, will announce his bid on Wednesday as part of a tour of the Coachella Valley. He will make stops that day in Palm Desert and Indio where he will probably also be looking for a home to rent. Via The Desert Sun:
Kealy lives in Temecula, which is outside the 36th District, but he plans to move to the desert soon and begin a campaign to oust Democratic Rep. Raul Ruiz.
Kealy, who clearly takes a mean selfie, faces a tough battle as, not only does the system favor incumbents – but Ruiz has a huge head start on him in fundraising.
Also, finding an affordable short term lease in the Coachella Valley can be brutal.
