Notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was captured (again) by authorities Friday and he can only blame himself (and his vanity) for his capture.
After escaping from prison and eluding authorities for 6 months, officials were able to track down El Chapo in a motel Los Mochis – and all because he was trying to get a movie about his life made. Via ABC News:
Part of the reason authorities tracked him down to a house in an upscale neighborhood in a coastal city was because he wanted to film a biopic and his people were communicating with actors and producers, Attorney General Arely Gomez said late Friday.
Oops.
Though, you would have to think that the producers of “Narcos” might be interested in the story at some point. Season 4 or 5, maybe?
El Chapo is being jailed (again) at the maximum-security prison known as Altiplano – maybe this time, the guards there will check for gigantic tunnels.
