The race to be the next mayor of Palm Springs got off to a violent start on Wednesday as 2 women in the audience got into a physical altercation.
The ladies got into it in the crowd during a Mayoral candidate forum in Palm Springs. Via KESQ:
The Palm Springs Police Department said the investigation involves two women and both of them told officers they were injured by the other during the event.
The first woman was treated for her injuries and released at the scene. The second woman was later contacted by police and said she was also injured during the event by the first woman.
The fight was between a supporter of Councilwoman Ginny Foat and Daphne Barak, the partner of candidate Bill Gunasti, according to The Desert Sun. Foat refused to name her supporter as she is “very afraid” – of what exactly is not clear.
Palm Springs politics continues to be the weirdest.
