Firefighters were called to the Indio Walmart on Avenue 42 on Tuesday morning to take on a blaze that was reported a little before 10:30 am.
42 firefighters were on hand to battle the fire and the store was evacuated.

KESQ reports the fire began on the roof near a section of solar panels.

The blaze has been contained.

The Desert Sun reports that two firefighters and one civilian suffered non-life threatening injuries.
