One would think most passengers bound for Hawaii would be a happy crowd, what with all the thoughts of beaches, poke, and luaus in their heads. But, one 66-year-old man on a Hawaiian Airlines flight got booted from the plane on Thursday after he threatened to “take someone behind the woodshed” when they tried to charge him $10 for a blanket.
The flight, which took off from Vegas, was rerouted to LAX where the man was taken off the plane by police and federal authorities, reports the LA Times.
He asked for a blanket and was told it would cost $12, the officer said. The man became upset and said he shouldn’t have to pay because it was cold, he said.
So he asked to speak with the airline’s corporate office. During an in-flight call with company representatives, the man allegedly said, “I would like to take someone behind the woodshed for this.”
The plane took off without the angry guy. And, after he told authorities what happened, they let him go, notes Hawaii News Now, and he caught another plane (not Hawaiian Airlines) to the islands.
Also, and this is important, planes should not be charging people $12 for blankets – but this is the world we live in now.
