A man was arrested Sunday after police say he burglarized a home that was being fumigated. The arrest came after a tip from the public after Hemet police released a video of the suspect looking directly into a Ring security camera.
The video was recorded on April 20. The suspect can be seen looking into the camera before breaking it, but the video was uploaded to the cloud before the Ring was broken. You can see the video here.
Homeowners shared the video after several items were taken from their home while it was being fumigated. Hemet Police later also shared the video leading to a tip that led to the arrest, according to KTLA.
Kevin Hughes, 53, was taken into custody in Los Angeles on Sunday.
A majority of the stolen items were recovered..
