We are now just a little over a month away from when Goldenvoice normally announces their lineup for Coachella fest. Unlike previous years, we already know one of the headliners (Beyonce) – as for the rest, well it’s mostly speculation until the big announcement. As Goldenvoice has been known to get creative with some lineup choices in the past – Hans Zimmer, Chris Stapleton, and Blue Man Group to name a few – might I suggest another inventive booking: Phil Collins.
No. I am not kidding. Phil Collins would be rad at Coachella. Do not disagree with this – hell, even Reddit knows it would be great!
Lots of people are always looking for those so-called “Coachella Moments” – those times when something cool, amazing, or memorable happens at the festival. And what, I ask you, could be a better Coachella moment than this…
That drum solo from “In the Air Tonight” live at the Empire Polo Club would be the best thing ever to happpen in your entire life and you know it!!! Hell, they might as well just cancel every other act scheduled to perform at that time and close down the Craft Beer Barn for an hour because no one is going to want to miss a second of it. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be life changing. And many, many babies are going to be born exactly nine months later and they will all be named Phil – even the little girls.
I Phil Collins could do other songs too – “Sussudio”, anyone? – and maybe bring out surprise guests since rappers freakin’ love him, but that would just be a bonus on top of what would already be one of the best Coachella moments ever.
