The planned downtown arena in Palm Springs will see construction get underway later this month as the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians announced on Wednesday that they will break ground on the new facility at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 18.
And while the groundbreaking will likely just be some photos of higher-ups with shovels and hard hats and such, it does mark the beginning of construction that will have to move in a hurry – as the yet-to-be-named minor league hockey team is set to play at the arena beginning with the 2021 – 2022 season.
