Hadley Fruit Orchards in Cabazon is getting an upgrade.
The popular tourist stop known for dried fruits and date shakes is set to move into a new building in January. The new store is being constructed just north of Ruby’s Diner – only yards from the current Hadley Fruit Orchards building on Seminole Drive.
The business was founded by Paul Hadley Sr. six decades ago. Hadley, a former Grand Canyon souvenir barker, sold the store and The Morongo Band of Mission Indians bought the business from in when he retired in 1999.
The new 12,500-square-foot retail store will be adding fresh fruit, home-baked bread, and pizza to its current inventory of dried fruits, nuts, wine, honey, trail mix, vitamins and gift items.
