For some reason, a wall has popped up at the base of the Cross Hike in Palm Desert. Sure, this made for the obligatory Trump joke – but, now that we got our giggles, what the fuck is it all about?

Seriously though. Hiking is usually done in order to spend some time with in nature (and to burn off those 5 beers you plan on having later) and nothing says nature more than a big white wall with some squiggly lines.

Art in public places is usually cool. This just seems kinda weird though.

So what’s up? Is this the case of Palm Desert showing they still have money left over after paying their former City Manager a fortune that we all wished they wouldn’t have? Did they just have these giant sculptures lying around and finally said, “fuck it, let’s put it where it might scare Bighorn Sheep!” Is it a Banksy thing?
