Drivers have found traffic to be backed up eastbound on Interstate 10 Tuesday morning as construction on the Jefferson Street interchange has closed two lanes.

The closure, just east of Jefferson is about a half mile long. The Desert Sun reports that traffic has been backed up to Washington Street.

Officer Mike Radford with the California Highway Patrol told KESQ that Caltrans crews are replacing the seals at the joints of the bridge.

Expect delays throughout the day.
