A storm is moving into California this week and, while there is chance for some pretty sizable amounts of precipitation expected in some parts of the state, the Palm Springs area is not expected to see much if any.
According to the National Weather Service, the best shot at showers comes on Thursday – but even then, expected rainfall amounts across the Coachella Valley are forecasted to be less than a tenth of an inch.

Of course, strange things happen, so the desert could be surprised with a bit more and, if your travels take you out of the desert on Thursday, give yourself some extra time as there’s a much better chance of seeing rainy weather elsewhere.
And even though the desert is not expected to see much rain, the high temperature for Thursday is only expected to be 78 degrees!…in the middle of May!!…in the desert!!! So yeah, you might want to enjoy that as much as you can as it will surely be 120 degrees any day now.
