It’s been a wet start to the week in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley – with plenty of rainfall, well for a desert anyway, over the last 48 hours. Here are the 48-hour totals across the valley’s measuring stations, as of 8 am Tuesday from the National Weather Service.
- Desert Hot Springs: 0.82 inches
- Whitewater Trout Farm: 0.79
- Palm Springs Airport: 0.73
- Windy Point: 0.71
- Thousand Palms: 0.59
- Palm Desert: 0.55
- Cathedral City: 0.47
- Indio: 0.47
- Thermal Airport: 0.32
- Indio Hills: 0.32
- Indio (2nd measuring location): 0.18
Yeah, Indio has two locations and I am not sure where each station is located. Take it up with the NWS, I suppose.
Any hey, there’s also snow up in the mountains!

According to the forecast, Tuesday will see more showers, with a break Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, but another round of precipitation coming Wednesday night into Thursday.
But, good news for you golf (or Sammy Hagar or Bad Company fans), things should clear out in time for Friday and into the weekend.
