Sasha the pit bull puppy is being hailed as a hero after she saved a baby from a fire.
Sunday night, Latana Chai of Stockton noticed Sasha was acting strangely in the backyard. Chai opened the door and Sasha ran into the house, barking.
“I open it and she runs in and starts barking at me like crazy, and I was like, ‘OK, this is weird. This is not like her,'” Nana told KTXL TV.

As it turned out, the house next door had caught fire. Chai, who had gone outside, rushed back into the house and saw that Sasha had made her way to where Chai’s daughter, Masailah, had been.
“I ran into the room and I see Sasha, she has my baby like by the diaper, just dragging her off the bed trying to get her to safety,” Chai told ABC News.

The Chai’s were not harmed, but all of the apartment unit in the fourplex is now unlivable, according to a GoFundMe campaign started by Chai’s sister, Christine White. The money will go to “help not only my family but also Sasha our hero pup start a new life in a new home.”
Chai credits Sahsa with saving them.
“She’s always been a part of the family. Now she just gets steak,” Chai said
