High School football coverage on local tv news is usually kind of weird. Yes, it is cool that they show footage of the games, but then there is all that “whacky” banter by the wannabe ESPN anchors that dominate the coverage and boring cliche-filled interviews with coaches.
One player in Austin, Texas decided to change all that. Apollos Hester, wide receiver for the East View Patriots, gave a post-game interview to TWC News Austin’s Lauren Mickler that was epic, amazing, and inspirational.
“Win or lose, we realized that we were going to be alright”
I could watch this young man give speeches all day!
