A park visitor found human remains inside of Joshua Tree National Park Saturday morning.
The discovery was made at about 9:15 am in the area of Big Horn Pass Road and Park Boulevard, according to a news release. The visitor alerted park officials.
The area was closed in order for the Riverside County Coroner’s Office and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to investigate.
This marks the second discovery of human remains inside the park in the last month.
