Police arrested a man after a chase on the eastbound 10 Freeway ended with the suspect crashing a stolen vehicle in Cabazon.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle “driving in an erratic manner” that police thought might be a DUI near Morongo Casino, according to a news release. The car took off, driving onto the 10 Freeway.
During the short chase, the car blew out a tire, caught fire, and ended when the driver intentionally crashed down an embankment, disabling the vehicle on Main Street in Cabazon.
The driver was arrested. He was identified by police as Dakota Fowler, age 23, from Yucaipa.
An investigation revealed the vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle out of the city of Banning.
