A hiker was airlifted from the Ladder Canyon Trail in Thermal after suffering an injury on Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters made their way on foot to the hiker about 3 pm, according to CalFire. A CHP helicopter was then used to lift the hiker, suffering from a lower extremity injury, off of the trail.

The injured hiker was flown to a waiting ambulance and was taken to the hospital.
