A La Quinta man was arrested after a a person was found dead Sunday morning in La Quinta.
Police were called to a residence on Dune Palms Road about 5:49 am, according to the La Quinta Police Department.
They arrived to find a 26-year-old woman who was dead with signs of obvious trauma.
A neighbor told me he woke up to the sound of a shotgun around 3 a.m. this morning.
Investigators continue to work this active scene off Dune Palms in La Quinta.

Jose Meza, 27, of La Quinta was arrested and booked into the Indio jail.
