Jeff Stone is totally not concerned Joy Silver’s campaign has way more cash

Jeff Stone, a California state Senator who has bad plans and may be the king of Airbnb, is well behind his opponent, Joy Silver, in fundraising for the November election – which is fine, because his campaign claims he is just too busy to raise money and that seems totally believable.

Silver raised over 70 grand according to financial disclosure records for the May 20 to June 30 period – which is far more than Stone’s $12,400, as noted by the Uken Report. Silver has over $78,000 on hand for the campaign, while Stone has less than $47,000 – which might seem bad, since the campaign with the most money wins 9 times out of 10.

But, Stone’s campaign says things are going exactly how they want.

“As he has since he was sworn into office in December of 2014, Sen. Stone has focused on being a Senator representing all of the people of the 28th Senate District,” Dave Gilliard, Stone’s campaign consultant told Uken Report. “Sen. Stone’s top priority has always been his constituents instead of raising money from donors. He serves on five key committees in the Senate and was just recently selected to serve on a special conference committee to deal with the recent wildfires spreading across California. Sen. Stone will have the financial resources he needs to be re-elected.”

Yeah, he seems super busy.
