A Bakersfield man who took his vehicle to a Jiffy Lube for a brake replacement now has thousands of dollars worth of damage after a technician smashed the vehicle into two street signs.
Carl Brewer took his vehicle in on May 12, a tech performed the brake replacement, and took the Toyota Four Runner on a test drive, according to ABC 23.
Brewer says the lug nuts on the tires were not tightened correctly and the driver lost control of the car – smashing into two street signs.
Brewer told the tv station that the manager was very kind and apologetic, and it was the manager’s first day in that position.
At first, Brewer said that Jiffy Lube was not being cooperative in making things right. So he posted about it on Facebook:
2,800 shares+ later, and Jiffy Lube issued a statement:

We are thankful no one was injured and we are committed to ensuring that our processes and procedures regarding quality and training are reinforced so that such an incident does not happen again.

Call me crazy, but if it was really a “top priority”, it would have been rectified already.
