The highly anticipated opening of the Krispy Kreme in Rancho Mirage is almost here.
The doughnut shop will open on April 16, according to KMIR – and you may want to wake up early that day, as the first 100 customers in line on opening day will receive a free dozen doughnuts every month for an entire year – so I guess plan on buying some stretchy pants for 2019.
Krispy Kreme will open at 5:30 am on Tuesday, April 16 – so I guess set your alarm to wake up at farmer hours right now, so you don’t forget on the big day.
Signs went up for the Rancho Mirage Krispy Kreme after we literally willed into happening. The Rancho Mirage Krispy Kreme will be the first in the Coachella Valley and will be located on Dinah Shore between Monterey and Bob Hope (where Palm Desert meets Rancho Mirage).
In addition to their signature glazed doughnuts, Krispy Kreme’s menu also includes other offerings like apple fritters, cinnamon buns, and a large selection of frosted and cake doughnuts and doughnut holes.
You can wash down your doughnut with a selection of coffees, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, chillers, and more.
The first Krispy Kreme was opened by Vernon Rudolph in 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Rudolph bought a secret yeast raised doughnut recipe from a New Orleans French chef, rented a building, and began selling its Krispy Kreme doughnuts to local grocery stores. Customers loved them and soon he was selling Original Glazed doughnuts directly to customers on the sidewalk.
Today, Krispy Kreme has locations in the United States Asia, Mexico, the Middle East, Puerto Rico, and Turkey.
