A Los Angeles man was arrested on Friday after police say they found about 800 pounds of stolen lemons in his car.

Investigators from the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team had been looking into a series of agricultural thefts from farms in Thermal, Mecca, and Oasis, according to a news release. Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Grapefruit Boulevard and Pierce Street on Friday at about 9:45 am.
Inside the vehicle, they saw the produce, which had been stolen from a nearby farm.

Dionicio Fierros, 69, was arrested for theft of agricultural products. The lemons were confiscated.
