A La Quinta man, who is an alleged gang member, was arrested this week after police say he assaulted a person and doused them with gasoline.
Mario Zamarripa, 39, tried to flee on foot from deputies on Wednesday at a home on Avenida Martinez, but was quickly apprehended, according to KESQ. The alleged attack occurred the previous day.
He was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a caustic chemical and other violations.
No details were released about the assault or the victim’s condition.
