Productivity at almost every government agency came to a screeching halt for several hours on Friday so elected officials and city employees could pat themselves on the back for bumbling through and finally completing less than 5% of the CV Link at a ribbon cutting ceremony. As the Desert Sun notes, the mayor of La Quinta came prepared with a joke.
As La Quinta Mayor Linda Evans took the stage to make introductory remarks, she snagged a selfie with Palm Desert Councilwoman Jan Harnik and Indio Mayor Mike Wilson and said: “I’ll make sure Rancho Mirage gets a copy.
Rancho Mirage, ya burnt*!

*This assumes any of the elders in Rancho Mirage knows what a selfie is.
dumb and dumber and even dumber yet….
Anyone want to place bets on when the first, assault, rape, shooting, gang turf war or robbery will take place in the neighborhoods close by this giant boondoggle ?
> Blue Desert: By your logic we should close all roads that connect the valley communities.
Rancho Mirage is once again showing how small minded they are.
I for one will no longer patronize businesses in RM as I can not support the BS.
>Fred Gerber. You missed the point completely. The CVL is 90% hidden from view except to those using it. An excellent place for all the crime in the valley. Comparing it to regular streets in the valley is like comparing dandruff to bananas. I’m sure RM is shaking in their boots because you will never shop there again.
I’ve ridden some great bike trails / paths in other cities, like Tucson. Lots of people ride it, and stay in shape, therefore needed less medical support. Bike trails like CV link will help people stay healthy.
I too will not shop in RM anymore. But I will ride my bike in RM, right down the middle of the road if they don’t provide good biking lanes.
