Update: Officials now say there was no attempted kidnapping in La Quinta

Update: The Sheriff’s Department has now clarified that there was no kidnapping, reports The Desert Sun.

The sheriff’s department has also announced that the woman was never pulled into the vehicle and it is not clear if the suspect is still being sought.

Original story:The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a man they say tried to kidnap a woman at a bus stop on Highway 111.

The victim says she was on the southeast corner of Highway 111 and Adams at 8:25 pm Tuesday night, when a man pulled up and forced her inside his car, reports the Desert Sun.

The woman was able to escape a short distance away at La Quinta Drive. The man then drove off.

The suspect is described as a Middle-Eastern man, somewhere between 25 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and about 190 pounds. He has a short beard, dark hair, and eye glasses.

His car, according to KESQ, was a dark-colored late-model sedan with black leather interior.
