It seems like forever ago that Coachella was postponed to the fall (even though it’s only been two weeks!), and now we are learning that Lady Gaga had a secret performance planned to promote her new album, which is also not happening, for now anyway.
After telling fans in an Instagram post that she is “staying safe” and practicing “social distancing,” she announced that “after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatic.” Gaga added, “I will announce a new 2020 release date soon.”
She noted that she had “so many fun things planned” to go with the album launch, including a secret performance at Coachella.
As for the now delayed album, Gaga wrote:
“This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”
