Video: KTLA’s Liberté Chan handed sweater to cover dress after viewer complaints

Viewers of the KTLA morning news on Saturday saw a bit of weirdness as weather reporter Liberté Chan, formerly of KMIR, was in the middle doing the weather when she was handed a grey cardigan live on the air.

“You want me to put this on? Why? ‘Cause it’s cold?” she asked.  “We’re getting a lot of emails,” anchor Chris Burrous responds off-camera.   The whole thing was over a few viewer complaints that Chan was showing her bare arms during the broadcast.

“Totally inappropriate… [it] looks like she didn’t make it home from her cocktail party last night,” wrote in one KTLA viewer – who clearly does not have nearly enough free time on their hands.

“This was a display of very poor judgment,” wrote another ridiculous viewer.

Here is a video that was posted later featuring more emails:

As insane as this whole thing is, it is to be expected. Because if there is one thing Americans are known for, it’s totally overreacting to things on TV and complaining about it.

I guess simply changing the channel would be too hard.
