The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens has been named one of the top zoos in the country.
The Palm Desert Zoo was included in the list of Conde Nast Traveler’s “10 Best Zoos in the U.S.” along with The San Diego Zoo, Indianapolis Zoo, Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, St. Louis Zoo, Bronx Zoo, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Alaska Zoo, Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, and Brookfield Zoo.
“Because land is fairly plentiful in the middle of the California desert, seeing the animals here feels a little like stepping onto the set of The Lion King,” Conde Nast states about the Living Desert. “The desert animals roam free with little inhibition, while visitors can roam the 50 gardens of 1,400 different plant and animal species in what’s undoubtedly the best desert-themed zoo in America.”
Naturally, Living Desert officials were stoked about being named to the list.
“The Living Desert is extremely proud to make this list along with other prestigious zoos across the country,” said Allen Monroe, President/CEO of The Living Desert. “It’s always gratifying to be recognized for our uniqueness and we’ll continue to make it a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests.”
