Local Media Goes Nuts on Commercial That Aired Just 10 Times

Wanna get the most bang for your buck with a TV commercial? Just make it slightly attackish and the Palm Springs media will give you loads of free publicity!

In the last 24 hours, The Desert Sun along with KMIR and KESQ/Local 2 have all aired stories on a political “attack ad” that just began airing in Palm Springs:

The ad, which can be seen below, says that Palm Springs is under “dark cloud” and that incumbents Ginny Foat and Paul Lewin should be voted out – you know, because of that whole #PouGhazi raid by the FBI.

As seen in documents posted by The Desert Sun, the ad aired a whopping 10 times during local news, The Today Show, and one time on Judge Judy (which was probably the best deal as it was only 40 bucks and people actually watch that show).

According to KESQ, a man named Kevin McVey paid to run the ad under the name “Zachary Beckett”.  $1,250 was spent by McVey, who The Desert Sun notes has ties to candidate Robert Moon, to air the ad 10 times – not a bad deal considering the thousands of dollars in free publicity these stories are giving his message now.
