A suspected car thief is dead as the result of fleeing from a Loma Linda couple who were pursuing him after he stole their 1994 Acura Integra.
When Jose Medina-Razo heard the sound of his car’s engine starting early Thursday morning he ran out of his girlfriend’s home and saw someone driving away in his Acura, reports The LA Times.
Medina-Razo, 19, and his girlfriend quickly got into their 2006 Honda Pilot and pursued the stolen Integra. While Medina-Razo drove, his girlfriend called the police.
But, before police could arrive, the man driving the stolen Integra crashed into the freeway overpass at Mountain View Avenue and the 10 Freeway. The driver of the Integra was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
His name has not been released.
The victim and his girlfriend suffered minor injuries.
