A Baldwin Park man was arrested on Thursday after police say he robbed a Thousand Palms gas station with a knife.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Chevron, located on Ramon Road. at about 1:31 am, according to a news release.
Police say a Hispanic male adult, later identified as Adrian Salinas, 24, entered the business armed with a knife and demanded money from the cash register. Salinas took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot.
Deputies searched the area and located Salinas on Varner Road west of Ramon Road. Salinas attempted to run on foot, but was apprehended after a brief struggle with deputies. He was arrested for robbery and he was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.
No employees or patrons were injured during the robbery.
