A man was arrested on Thursday after police say he shot at a sheriff’s helicopter.

The helicopter was responding to investigate a report of a man riding a quad while carrying a rifle on his back near Soboba Road about 10:40 pm, according to the Press Enterprise. As the sheriff’s helicopter watched the man, police say he shot at the helicopter.

The sheriff’s SWAT team was called in and arrested 28-year-old Reuben Anthony Briones  on suspicion of attempted murder on a peace officer.

No one in the aircraft was injured.
